Founded in 1986 by Late Shri Kanai Lall, CHIRAG is a rural development organization working to build a better future for communities across the Himalayan region of India. For over four decades, we have worked alongside rural communities, with a special focus on women, children and disadvantaged groups, to improve quality of life and create lasting change.
Our work spans education, healthcare, livelihoods and natural resource management, addressing the interconnected challenges that shape rural life. Rooted in local knowledge and community participation, we strive to create opportunities that strengthen communities. Through partnerships, technology, innovation and a deep understanding of local needs, we continue to work towards a more equitable, resilient and sustainable future for the Himalayas.
